Three actors invite the audience to an evening that presents Astrid Lindgren from a lesser-known perspective. Alongside the celebrated characters from her literary work, the focus is on her diaries, letters and political observations.
During the Second World War, the then 25-year-old Astrid Lindgren kept a wartime diary. Later published under the title »Humanity Has Lost Its Mind«, these writings reflect her thoughts, hopes and concerns in a world at war. They are complemented by letters and other documentary texts from her literary estate.
The reading brings these personal testimonies into dialogue with excerpts from Lindgren's literary work, revealing her as a perceptive observer of her time.
Five songs – from »The Wolf Song« from »Ronja the Robber's Daughter« to »Blowin' in the Wind« – provide the musical frame for the evening.
