At the heart of the reading, two voices meet: Pina Bausch speaks about her life, her work and her search for a language of her own on stage. Alongside her words are the memories of those who worked and danced with her, above all the dancer Jo Ann Endicott. Together, they form a dialogue about an extraordinary artistic collaboration: about trust and devotion, the desire to cross boundaries, but also exhaustion, doubt and conflict.
The evening traces Pina Bausch’s journey from her childhood in Solingen through her years with Kurt Jooss in Essen and her time in New York to Tanztheater Wuppertal …
